About

I am a Danish-Argentinian guitarist with a deep love for blending acoustic resonance, electric textures, and spatial sound concepts. My music draws from a versatile and personal approach to the guitar, focusing on raw improvisation and pushing the boundaries of sonic possibilities. I cherish a lo-fi yet expansive aesthetic that bridges intimate, folky atmospheres with avant-garde explorations. Recent projects, such as TUNGEMÅL I-III, focus on the electric guitar in acoustic chamber settings, exploring how spatiality shapes the listening experience and the languages of music - and people as such. The recent project, BABEL, integrates multilingual interviews in the music. The album received a Danish Music Award Jazz nomination, composer of the year, in 2024.

Over the years, I’ve led or co-led numerous projects, including Solborg 4+4+1, Revolver, the Mark Solborg Trio with Herb Robertson & Evan Parker, and the spatial surround project Omdrejninger with Axel Dörner. My collaborations span a wide range of improvisers and genres, working with artists like Chris Speed, Susana Santos Silva, Ingar Zach, Marilyn Mazur, and Yasuhiro Yoshigaki.

My journey began with a formal education at the Rhythmic Conservatory of Copenhagen, the Royal Danish Academy, and New School University in the US. Since 2000, I’ve been active on the European scene, releasing 27 albums of my original music, mainly on the Copenhagen-based label ILK, of which I was co-founder. My work extends beyond the studio into theatre, performative arts, and film, including live performances set to silent films.

My compositions and guitar work have been recognized with Grammy nominations, a Reumert award, and support from the Danish Arts Foundation. I’ve toured globally, in 23 countries, and played my music with artist of 15 different nationalities. We're continuing to explore the boundaries of composition, sound and improvisation.
